The Setback:

I am self employed, where I work long days, sometimes 12-15 hours a day and most of the time it's 7 days a week. I didn't feel like I had time to go to a gym.

The Wake-Up Call:

My wake up call was my Doctor telling me I have high blood pressure and needed to take meds for it!

The Comeback:

I kept seeing this guy at Starbucks every morning at 7:15a walking in with shorts, sneakers, smiling and always looking happy! One day I finally asked him where are you coming from and why are you always so happy? His name was Jim Considine, and he told me he was coming from bootcamp! He filled me in with all the info about Leverage Fitness Studio and this “Better Body Bootcamp”. So I called the studio and signed up for the next bootcamp. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into, but I knew it was worth the try!

The Workouts:

I’ve been doing bootcamp since November 2015 and still going. In the last 8 months I have been doing 5am Bootcamp classes. I have gotten to the point where I am able to run 4-5miles and sometimes I do this right after class. I have overall improved tremendously in both strength and endurance.

The Nutrition:

I cut the amount of carbs I was in taking and started eating smaller portion sizes. In addition, I incorporated more greens and protein. However....Friday, still remains “pizza day” in our house and if I want ice cream, I have that too! I don’t deprive myself, I emphasize moderation.

The Shout Outs:

To my wife (Tricia) and our children for all their support. A big thanks to Jim Considine, if not for him, this would never have happened! Thanks to ALL the staff at Leverage for their support (Stacey, Denise, Jenn, Lauren, Tim, Paul, Erin, Scott and Ann)!!! Thanks to Lauren for encouraging me to run....never in a million years did I think I’d be “A Runner”! Thanks to my running squad (Brad, Martha, Stacey,Nicole, Gina, Julie & Maria....sometimes Tom (lol). There are too too many people to thank....Leverage is a Family, it has become a family to me & my entire family!
